sights and sounds

Today marked our first visitors from the great state of Nebraska. One of our friends came, along with his girlfriend, as he is checking out a college near by. It has been great to have visitors and people from home that we get to show around and share our few experiences of east coast living with. We took them the long and scenic way back to South Hamilton from the airport, along the ocean and past new england style homes and shops. Brian and I still marvel at how beautiful it is out here and hope that the beauty never becomes 'normal' to us.

This week we had many great surprises from home, phone calls, skype dates, packages in the mail, it was wonderful and we had two packages to pick up on Saturday but the mail room was already closed. The kids and I will probably have to walk up to the mail room tomorrow, as I love getting mail. I should explain...We have a standard apt size mail box for us here in our building and Brian has a student mail box on campus that he receives school related mail through. When we receive packages or letters to large to fit on our little box here in our building, they take them up to campus and place a slip in Brian's student mail box then we can pick them up at the schools mail room.

We visited for the third time North Shore Community Baptist church again today. It was nice to see some familar faces and swap phone numbers and 'mom' stories. I am hoping to visit their mops group this Thursday. side note, I met a gal from Manitoba here the other day and she knows someone I went to highschool with back in The Pas...really what a small world! Thank you God for the reminder of how small the world really is and for someone to share storeis of Canada with! (This connects with my prevous thought, because I saw them at church today from afar, but didn't get to say hi.)

Lord, I am continually in awe of your timing, I comment over and over to people about how this transition to GCTS has been such a blessing and an act of You that we are here at this exact time! I pray we can be good stewards of our time here and what you have intrusted us with. Lord may you continue to lead us with all the details of 'transitioning' to South Hamilton.
