Refreshing weekend

This past week was filled with ups and downs related to my job search. I was discouraged and frustrated, but it took two days for me to gain some perspective and dig myself back out of my hole and forge ahead :) I woke up Thursday morning thinking, this is the day the Lord has make, rejoice and be glad in it. So I did, I had a better outlook on how I was going to approach my job search. That night I was able to spend some great time at a coffee shop with a new friend Emily who continued to encourage me and I received an email from an HR person from the first job I applied at 3 weeks ago.
Friday evening friends of our were going out and asked me to sit at their apt while they were out, their children were already in bed. I had 3+ hrs to sit in quiet, and I didn't really know what to do, I have so many little projects to do but instead I was able to spend some much need catch up time with two great gals back home! Loved it!
Saturday morning I attended a prayer conference with a seminary wife who is also desperately searching for a job. We were both refreshed by the conference and encouraged in the Lord. Sat night we were invited to a game night with a life group that we are now apart of, the couples are all so very gracious and welcoming, it was also nice to be in a 'home' setting :)
Sunday am we decided to give Sunday School a try and then attended Church, they are this amazing skit title 'hello, my name is...' and it started with three people giving great answers to who 'they are' successful, funny, an achiever, all those great ways we use to describe ourselves, and then it turned to the sad and disappointing things in our lives and then to forgiven! I was moved by the skit because it is so true on how we publicly and privately portray ourselves and how we forget about who we are in Christ and how because of His forgiveness we have life and the old is gone and we can walk confidently in Him. It spoke directly to me in how my week played out. The pastor's message was on forgiveness and I saw it in such a new light. One quote that stuck out to me was " without cancellation of debt there is no freedom" meaning, without forgiving others or continuing to hold on to a grudge we are tied to it and we can not have freedom from the situation and move away from it without forgiveness.
This evening  Danny Oertli was leading worship for a family style worship night. It was a slice of heaven and a slice of home, because the first time I heard for Danny was with Dare 2 Share when he led worship for them and also at First Free a number of times. Just Grace and I went and we had a great time singing and listening to music.
Lastly I was putting the girls to bed and asked them if they wanted me to pray for anything, they listed off a few things and then Grace decided she wanted to pray, (she never prays) it was tender, she was so sweet and then Gabby prayed! I wish I could have recorded them, such sweet and lovely little voice praying for things that matter to them!
Thank you Jesus for a great last few days!
